June 30th, 2018

Sorry everyone! I have been really tired lately and I fell asleep literally while trying to write yesterday's post. Unfortunately for y'all, sleep won. I need to figure out a way to not be so tired...I'm not even sure why I'm so tired lately! I wasn't like this in high school. Maybe it's because I'm in college and I've been taking classes almost non-stop? Maybe I won't take so many classes during the fall; I only have classes left to take before my degree is done. However, since I'm actually going for a Game Design degree (which TSTC got rid of right before I started school), I might have to go back since the Game Design degree was turned into a certificate that you can only complete after completing a Computer Programming Degree. Ugh...I might have to take a semester off or something and just focus on writing and my part time job.

I took my youngest brother to Braums to get him food and a milkshake. While driving up there, he heard me yell at people for almost hitting us, yell at this one jerk who decided it was okay to park in the exit of Braums, yell at another car for flying by and almost taking out my mirror, and yell at our dogs for running out in front of the car. My youngest brother almost died from laughter in the backseat (apparently I'm hilarious when raging at other drivers).

Work was actually quite slow after a while. When I first clocked in, we were packed due to two buses, but after they left business slowed down a bit. When I got home, I ended up falling asleep. I'm about to go to bed, but first I need to finish somethings for school. In other news, I almost have another Twine Story done! This one has a battle system in it; I'm very proud of my RPG (even if it broke a billion times)!

That's all for today folks! Stay determined and remember: Laughter is the BEST medicine~!

June 28th, 2018

Sorry for not posting. I wasn't home all day June 26th and when I did get home, it was late and I went to bed. Yesterday I would have posted, except my brother needed me to stay off the internet so he could take a test. June 26th was my second younger brother's birthday and we released balloons for him in the cemetery. He would have been eleven this year; man time sure does fly. On our way home from the cemetery, we stopped to look at a skunk and the car was nearly sprayed. It was hilarious! I got my hair dyed purple with a black ombre; it looks amazing! My friend is coming over today and I have homework due tonight, which is why I'm posting now.

I'm excited about the book cover for the Prince and the Unicorn! My friend draws my covers for me and he showed me the cover; it looks amazing! When he's done, I'll post the cover on social media and probably in the post as well! This fairy tale is going to drop some jaws~! I cannot wait to be done with another book. I need to hurry up and finish the second Darkthorn Novel so I can publish the first one! I'm practically dying to publish the first one!

That's all for today folks! Stay determined and remember: Laughter is the BEST medicine!

June 25th, 2018

Hey everyone! Today was a pretty fun day; my family and I went to Waco to shop for bathing suits and my youngest brother and I had to get our shots (they hurt pretty bad and my arm was burning for about an hour). We stopped and ate lunch at Poppa Rollos; the restaurant had amazing pizza! The Three Stooges was playing on a t.v. and it was hilarious to watch.

After lunch and getting our shots, we went to Target. I bought three new books: The Mist by Stephen King; Furyborn by Claire Legrand; and Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian. My pile of books I have yet to read grows! Haha...I will eventually get through that massive pile (just need to find time to read). I have five more classes left to take and then my Computer Programming Degree will be complete! Then, I'm going back to school to complete a certificate for Game Design. After that, I'm going to be getting my Bachelor's Degree elsewhere. Yippie more school!

That's all for now folks! Stay determined and remember: Laughter is the best medicine!

Hey everyone! Work was a killer today. Lots of people were getting ice cream and the lobby was. A. Mess. I survived, however! My feet are killing me...but I'll be okay. I need to finish some homework, so I have to cut this post short. Sorry about that!

June 22th, 2018

Hey everyone! Today was actually a little productive for me! I have edited a good portion of the first Myth Riders novel, Flight of the Chosen, and added a dedication page, plus a disclaimer page and two pages where I plan to insert two maps relating to the story. The Myth Riders series is set in the same world as my Darkthorn series, plus another series called The Chronicles of the Phoenix and Dragon Queens, a series about two teens destined to inherit the throne of their respective kingdoms, but first they must undergo their kingdoms' trials and defeat an evil man bent on stealing both thrones. The series takes place on Minerva, the fourth continent found on Aamira (the other three are Thoyra, where the Darkthorn series takes place; Ajiathan, where the Myth Riders Trilogy takes place; and Kage-to-Kage, also known as The Cursed or Forbidden Continent). I have drawn a map of Aamira and have posted it at the bottom of the post.

Today has been an odd week. Everyone seemed to have been having a rough week, but now I think everyone is feeling better (if not, I send you a hug to make the day/night better)! I was almost involved in a few wrecks today: this morning, while heading to school, I had to slam on my breaks because an eighteen wheeler decided to turn out of this place (I'm not sure what it is, but there's a huge mound of I think dirt with a white tarp thrown over it and being held down by tires. Those of you who drive down 933 heading towards Aquilla/West/Waco/Whitney/Hillsboro know what I'm talking about) while I was coming, almost didn't stop in time; on the way home from school, a bunch of people pulled out in front of me and I ended up behind a truck going 40 in a 55 zone, but I'm sure he had to go slow because of everything in the back of his pickup. The reason he's in this list is because right before we got to Hillsboro, he started veering to the left a lot and he made me nervous, so I passed him (plus, I was tired of doing 35 down the service road). Finally, I got behind a car doing the speed limit down FM 309, but every time we would round a curve, he/she would get into the left lane, then snap back over into the right lane (almost hitting me in the process, since I was trying to speed up some so the truck behind me wouldn't nail me trying to round the corner) because we passed a lot of big trucks. So...yeah. Today was pretty terrifying while I was on the road.

Alright, I'm tired so, see y'all later! Stay determined and remember: Laughter is the best medicine!

June 20th, 2018

What's up everyone? Today has come and gone. Time marches on...even as I spend most of the day watching YouTube videos and not being very productive, aside from doing a few chores around the house for my awesome parents. I wish I would spend this time working on a book (imagine all I could get done in a single day), but for some reason, whenever I actually went to write something, all of my thoughts would vanish. Poof. Gone. Just like that. A snap of your finger and my thoughts are but incoherent echoes of soft whispers. It's odd; this doesn't usually happen to me. I don't think it's Writer's Block, since I have plenty of ideas until I go to actually put my thoughts on paper. I bet if I was at school, I wouldn't be able to stop writing...am I just getting distracted? Maybe that's all it is...

Anyway, my issues aside, today has been dreary. Weather-wise and mood-wise. I'm also bored. I want to hang out with my friends, but they're all too busy. Plus, there's nothing fun to do where I live. Great, now I'm bumming myself out. Moving on...! Tomorrow, when I get home from school, I will write and do nothing but write! I will have a book finished by the end of next month or I will deny myself cookies and ice cream until a book is finished (oh crap, I need to get started then haha)! Don't worry guys, I will not give up! I have a dream and I vow to accomplish it!

Which reminds me...I might change a title I have for a book. As of right now, it's called The Wizards and the Unicorn. However, I want a different title. If y'all have any ideas, please please please let me know!

Alright, I'm off to writing town! See y'all later, leave a comment, stay determined, and remember forever: Laughter is the best medicine!

June 19th, 2018

Hey guys! This will be another short post; sorry about that! I'm almost done with Chapter 2 in The Hunt for Ruin; a couple more things need to happen, then it's on to Chapter 3! My friend is working on the book covers for my novellas and I can't wait to see them! I don't remember if I mentioned this or not, but I found the first version of The Thieves and the Unicorn tucked away on my flash drive! The first version of it has no title (though I would most likely have either called it Aster, The Mysterious Charge, or the Wizards and the Unicorn) and is about a girl a wizard and his apprentice save from slave traders. It was set in Lorn, the very first version of Aamira.

The Thieves and the Unicorn is set in Aamira and is about two honorable thieves (they despise the life they lead and wish to change it) who meet a young girl traveling with a famous wizard thought to be dead by the world. The wizard pays the thieves to take the girl to an acquaintance of his, who has promised to help keep her safe from an evil warlock (because what good fantasy novel doesn't have an evil warlock in it). The two novels are different and yet the same. I plan to write both and publish them, though I don't know if I plan to publish them together or as separate novels (probably the latter. Maybe I'll do a bundle sale). I made a copy of the original story and plan to polish up the copy. I love how different the story is when two different pairs of characters are the stars! It's fundamentally the same story, but it can go so many different ways; that's awesome!

Alright, enough about me raving about writing and how a story changes based on who's narrating it. It's late and I'm pretty tired. Don't forget to comment (still wanting to know which book y'all think will be finished first) and I'm still looking for a title for A Tale as Old as Time! June 18th, 2018

Hey y'all! This post is going to be short; I'm tired and need to be going to bed soon. Today was an okay day. I discovered that two of my novels share a title, so I'm hunting for a new title for the second novel. For now, I'm calling it: A Tale as Old as Time. The story is about a unicorn that falls in love with a prince and wants her dragon friend to turn her into a human so she can be with the prince; it's a sweet tale and I really want to find a good title for it! If you have any ideas, please leave a suggestions in the comments!

Alright, sorry for the short post, but I didn't get much sleep last night and I have a migraine the size of Manhattan. I'm also just now getting over a terrible stomach ache I've had since around five in the afternoon. Stay determined, don't forget to comment if you have any ideas for a title, and remember, Laughter is the best medicine!

Happy Father's Day everyone! Man, work was hard today; we were packed! I managed to keep the lobby clean (somehow) and now I'm home~! I bought a couple of games for my PS Vita and I've been playing A Rose in the Twilight for a couple of hours now. I love the game so much; it's my new favorite Vita game and I've laughed so hard at it! In the game, you play as a princess with a curse that allows her to absorb and infuse blood into objects. Early on, you meet a giant who can pick things up and throw them, including Rose (the princess). It's a morbid game (my favorite), but the reason it has me laughing is because I keep accidentally killing Rose! I'm not used to PlayStation controls and I keep throwing her on accident! The funniest mistake I have made thus far is I threw a table at Rose and killed her (oops)!

I've worked a little bit on The Prince and the Unicorn this morning, so yay! Since I've been at work all day, I haven't gotten much further in any other book. I know I know--y'all are dying to read them! I'm trying to finish them, but between work and school, it's slow going. However! I plan to focus on my two novellas and hopefully, I can finish them by the end of this month or next month! Let me know if y'all believe I can do it~!

Alright, it's late and I'm eager to continue working on The Prince and the Unicorn, so I will catch y'all later! Stay determined and remember...Laughter is the best medicine! And, because it's Father's Day, here's another little motto of mine to help you punch Life in the face: A Smile a day, keeps depression at bay!

June 16, 2018

Hey everyone, sorry for not posting yesterday. I was exhausted and fell asleep the moment I got home. My brother needed me to take him to our parents' shop so he could take a quiz (our internet went out yesterday, but it's back up now). We went to visit my grandma, who has been in the nursing home since her leg was amputated several months ago. Not only has her prosthetic come in, but she'll be coming home at the end of the month! Yay~!

Yesterday was pretty interesting. My brother and I decided to drive over to Sonic to get something to drink before we went to see our grandmother. We were sitting at a red light behind a Mini Copper (according to my brother; I don't know car brands very well). The street we were on was narrow and boy did we and the lady driving the Mini Copper get a scare! A UPS eighteen wheeler tried turning into the left lane beside us and came very close to hitting both the Mini Copper and me! The poor lady in the Mini Copper actually backed up until she was almost touching my bumper; I would have backed up as well, but there was a car behind me. Thankfully, the UPS eighteen wheeler made it without hitting anybody (mainly because he was half-way on the curb).

My novels are coming along a little slowly. The Hunt For Ruin is still in chapter 2, but I have it almost wrapped up. I haven't gotten very far in the other books because of the nap I took yesterday. When I woke up, I ended up hanging out with my cousin and we played a fun fighting game on the Xbox 360.

Today I had to work and it was difficult. It's Father's Day weekend, so Braums was packed. I fought to keep the lobby and bathrooms clean and keep everything (lids, spoons, forks, etc.) stocked. A lot of people kept sitting at tables I was trying to clean, so I had to politely ask them to wait patiently for me to finish. These kids brought in Taco Bell and started a food fight. One of my coworkers got on to them while I got a broom to sweep up the mess. What did the parents do? Absolutely nothing. They were sitting at a different table, chatting away and ignoring the ruckus their children were making. I laugh when people say my job is easy; nothing about it is easy.

That's all for now; I'm tired, so I might take another nap. Stay determined and remember--Laughter is the best medicine!

Hey everyone! Today, I had to get re-tested for allergies and I'm excited to know that ALL of my food allergies have kicked the bucket! I'm so happy~! Of course, I have to reintroduce the foods back into my diet slowly, or it'll cause problems for me. Plus, I still have to get allergy shots, so...boo. I hate needles! Just the thought of them makes me sick...

Moving on! In my Game Design class, we had fun creating a first person shooter game. I have also learned that Vertigo, contrary to what a friend of mine told me, is not the fear of heights, but getting sick from head movements. Acrophobia is the fear of heights; I have this bad. Being up high makes me sick and feel very. very weak. It's terrible--I'm amazed I can ride roller costars (though not The Superman; try to get me on that ride and I will run away).

My novels are coming along nicely! I hope to have another book out by the end of next month, if I focus and work hard! Let's see which book gets done first~! I'll post the updated word counts at the bottom of the post. Guess which one will be done first and let me know what y'all think in the comments~! I'll also post an intended word count for each work, though be warned that these are subjected to change!

The Mayfly is a full-length novel based almost entirely around a dream I had a few years back (that dream is still making me go what the heck did I just dream?). The House at the End of the Street is a collection of short stories around 100 words each (maybe, haven't really decided yet). The Prince and the Unicorn is a fairy tale-like novella I'm dying to  get out! The theme is something that is overlooked constantly by books and other works dealing with love: Love makes people do good deeds as well as cruel deeds for the people they care about. Everything in the story reflects the theme; you have been warned.

That's all for now! Stay determined and remember--Laughter is the best medicine!

June 13th, 2018

Hey everyone! I have great news: I'm an author on Goodreads now! Check me out here! I'm super excited to also announce that I will be keeping track of how many words The Hunt For Ruin is and keep y'all up to date on that! Once the book hits 50,000 words it will be considered a full-length novel (that does not mean it will be done)! Journey of the Lone Star is 66,442 words--let's see if I can make The Hunt For Ruin longer! Who's with me (let me know in the comments)?!

So I have a homework assignment due tonight and I can't complete it right now. I have to download a zip file to my computer and I've been waiting since 3:30 for it to download. Not sure if I'm going to make the deadline (I'm planning to email my teacher and explain my issue). As soon as it's done downloading, I'm going to work like a madwoman to get it done!

I have also developed yet another character I was blindsided with! I'm proud of this character, but I wonder why all of my minor characters are suddenly becoming important? Hmm...the same thing happened with Mouse and Petunia. They were only supposed to be two servants who show up once and are never heard from again, but now they travel around with Lupus, a major character (I know what happened here; I fell in love with them, that's what).

That's all for now! Stay determined and remember--Laughter is the best medicine!

Hey y'all, listen...I'm not really up to posting much today. Life hates me. Like seriously, not only does my foot feel like someone's hammering on the bottom of it, but just...a lot of stuff happened to me today and I'm not up to posting about my day. It was just a bunch of little things that wore me down, so don't worry. Sorry...a plus that happened is I laughed my butt off watching Jeff Dunham, so there's a plus. I also developed a new character due to misspelling greed, so yay! Stay determined and remember--Laughter is the best medicine~!

June 11th, 2018

Y'all thought I wasn't going to post again, didn't y'all? Well ha! I did--obviously, or you wouldn't be reading this. Today was alright. The air conditioner in the cafeteria at school went out, so they weren't serving hot food. I ended up buying a soda and two pb & j sandwiches (which were good). Thought it might rain, so I actually drove to the cafeteria instead of walking (this is Texas, so of course it didn't rain). My homework is trying to kill me; the final question in my Database class is confusing and even the teacher is having difficulty with it. She told me she's missing a command to make it work; I hope she remembers what it is, because I'm out of ideas on how to make the query work.

I have made a little more progress on The Hunt for Ruin. Still in chapter 2, but at least the characters are inside a mini-fort and NOT the blistering hot desert anymore! It's still smoldering inside the mini-fort, but...can't help that! This series is set in a fantasy land where ac is not a thing (cue gasps). However, there are witches with MAGIC! The three characters just aren't witches...haha, they'll be fine! I refuse to let them die of heat strokes (they are important characters). The mini-fort's design is genius; I'm proud of myself~!

I listened to a new song by Nothing More; it's called God Went North. An amazing song that hit me hard and cut deep...ow my heart. Seriously though...it's a deep, painful song. One I might end up singing one day, who knows (I hope not)? Nothing More has a lot of great songs; it's one of my favorite bands. My top favorite bands are Breaking Benjamin, Starset, From Ashes To New, Three Days Grace, Evanescence, and Skillet. I have more Three Days Grace songs than any other band on my phone (last I checked, I had 41 songs by Three Days Grace). One of my favorite songs by them is The Mountain. My favorite song by them is Fallen Angel. My favorite Breaking Benjamin song is either Unknown Solider or Angels Fall. My favorite Starset song is a tie between It Has Began or My Demons. My favorite From Ashes To New song is Through It All. My favorite Evanescence song will always be the original Bring Me To Life; the new version is way too slow and...weird. Still like it though.

Alright y'all, see ya later~! Stay determined and remember, laughter is the best medicine~!

June 10th, 2018

Sorry for not posting for three days! I was hanging out with one of my closest friends and I forgot to post...oops! Haha...I had fun! I tried chicken sausage for the first time and I loved it! My friend and I chopped some sausage up and added it to our ramen noodles. I also tried dried seaweed...bleh! Never again haha!

Yesterday was my brother's birthday! We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and it was delicious! We informed the staff of the special day, and they brought out the saddle for him to ride! It was hilarious; he was angry with us (mostly my dad, since it was his idea)! If you would like to view the video, click here. It'll take you to my Instagram, where the video is posted.

I meant to post this last night, but when I got home, I fell asleep. Sorry about that! Anyway, I'm working on a couple of books and I hope one of them will be done soon! It's called The Prince and the Unicorn. It's a fairy tale-like story about a witch who curses a princess with a curse most foul; to save her, the prince must seek out a unicorn. It will most likely be a novella, but that's alright! I can't wait to get it published; the theme is very important and I'm dying to share it! However, I won't...yet.

The second Darkthorn novel, The Hunt for Ruin, is coming along nicely. I was stuck on chapter 2, but I'm now approaching chapter 3 at a rapid pace! I can't wait for this one to be done as well! Once the book has reached Chapter 7 or so, I plan to try publishing the first novel. Keep an eye on my Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook! My friend Josh is drawing my book covers and once I get the okay, I'll post the first two novels' book covers on social media (and most likely here). Stay tuned!

Alright, I'm out of here! Leave a comment below if you want and I'll remember to post tomorrow (I promise)! See ya later~! Oh and stay determined (Undertale is my favorite pc game EVER)~!

An Introduction So Short and Sweet

Howdy! I'm Amalthea Snow and I'm an addict...to books, not drugs or anything like that! Man, what's wrong with you? Haha...I'm just messing with y'all! I know there's nothing wrong with you! Anyhow, as I mentioned before, I'm Amalthea Snow and I am an author! A novice author...but still an author~! Welcome to my blog, where I'll be posting daily about my day and what not. I'll also answer questions, if y'all have any, to the best of my ability--either in the comments or I'll mention it in the next blog. I might even do a Q & A blog...who knows (the Q&A will be a thing most likely, will post a link in next post)?

So anyway...I'm an aspiring author who lives in Texas and my favorite color is red. My favorite thing to eat is chocolate, though my favorite dish has to be Fettuccine Alfredo! My favorite genre of books is a tie between horror and fantasy. I love playing RPG games the most and MMO type games the least. My hobbies include reading, writing, listening to music, watching anime, and drawing (occasionally, since I suck at drawing). I publish my first book (titled The Diary) when I was seventeen and still in high school.

I'm currently searching for a publisher (aside from Amazon, I love them but...my dream is to be a published author). There are a few I'm researching now and I will let y'all know how that goes! My next novel is the first of a series called The Darkthorn Family Series. The first book, Journey of the Lone Star, introduces Lucida Darkthorn, one of the last remaining Darkthorns, who is searching for her childhood friend Rune Marrows. Rune disappeared two years before the start of the novel and Lucida finally gets a clue to her best friend's whereabouts. There's just a tiny, tiny problem: there is a rebellion brewing in the Kingdom of Goldcrest, where the clue hints Rune to be. As if that wasn't enough, there's also a dragon flying around and attack the five kingdoms of Thoyra (the continent the novel takes place in).

That reminds me! I also write children's books under the name Taylor P. Vaughn. My first book, The Werewolf Who Ate the Moon, is supposed to be available soon! Gean Penny is publishing it and I heard it would (hopefully) be ready by October~! Come over here to check out my post about it!

I'm currently going to college to be a Computer Programmer and Game Designer. So the post times might be all over the place. Sorry about that~! I'll try to be consistent.

Well, I think I have told y'all enough for now. Remember, if y'all have any questions, leave a comment and I will answer it as soon as possible! See ya later~!

April 24th, 2019

Howdy y'all! I'm back after almost 6 months of silence! Sorry about that - Life got in the way and for a while I wasn't up to do...
